Read for the Record is one of the world’s largest shared reading experience. Over 17 years, 24 million people across the globe have bonded through language and literature and read the same story on the same day. What do all these readers have in common? They are all English speakers! This is the power of language: it connects people. It allows them to discover new stories, as well as develop new skills related to such meaningful narratives.
Held on October 27th, children from Preschool to Grade 2 in Colégio Emilie joined in this world-wide event, and read the book “Nigel and the moon”, by Antwan Eady. Touched by the plot of the narrative, children shared their future dreams and their wishes about what they would like to be or do when they grow up, as well as the world they are dreaming of.
Not only did they enjoy wonderful literature, but they also felt part of a global learning community.

Realizado no dia 27 de outubro, crianças do Preschool ao Grade 2 do Colégio Emilie participaram deste evento mundial e leram o livro “Nigel e a lua”, de Antwan Eady. Tocadas pelo enredo da narrativa, elas compartilharam seus sonhos futuros e desejos sobre o que gostariam de ser ou fazer quando crescerem, assim como o mundo com o qual sonham.
Eles não apenas desfrutaram de uma leitura maravilhosa, mas também se sentiram parte de uma comunidade global de aprendizado.
