Celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November according to American culture, Thanksgiving is a significant moment of celebration when families come together to give thanks for the entire process throughout the year. Historically, this tradition began with the fraternization between the pilgrims and the native indigenous Americans to celebrate the successful harvest after working together.
At Colégio Emilie, this moment is annually celebrated by our students from our Bilingual Education, and this year, the Thanksgiving project from Preschool to Grade 1 had as its main focus the 7 commitments of the Global Compact on Education, a call from Pope Francis in defense of humanistic and supportive education as a way to transform our global village. The morning groups invited the educational community to give thanks and reflect on how we build bridges – ways of getting closer, of reaching out to each other.
The afternoon groups emphasized the gratitude for life, inviting everyone to think about the power of the gesture of love and care.

Comemorado na quarta quinta-feira de novembro de acordo com a cultura americana, o Dia de Ação de Graças é um momento significativo de celebração, quando as famílias se reúnem para agradecer por todo o processo ao longo do ano. No Colégio Emilie este momento é celebrado anualmente por nossos alunos de Educação Bilíngue e, este ano, o projeto de Ação de Graças do Preschool ao Grade 1 teve como foco principal os 7 compromissos do Pacto Educativo Global, um chamado do Papa Francisco em defesa da educação humanitária e solidária como forma de transformar nossa aldeia global. Os grupos da manhã convidaram a comunidade educativa a agradecer e a refletir sobre como construímos pontes – formas de nos aproximarmos, de irmos ao encontro do outro.
Os grupos da tarde destacaram a gratidão pela vida, convidando a todos a pensarem na força do gesto de amor e carinho.
