Grade 5 students shared stories with Grade 2 in playful and creative ways, including dramatizations and paper puppets, all crafted by the older students. This activity was part of the StarBooks Delivery initiative, a project designed during the Literary Month to encourage reading in English by involving students in a literary coffee-style storytelling project for children.
On this special day, four stories were presented: “10 Little Monkeys”, “Old Turtle”, “The Boy and the Wall” ,and “Quakers.” The students engaged in an interactive activity where Grade 2 children had to find clues along the way to the classroom. Afterwards, they drew boats inspired by the stories that were told!
By using playfulness and creativity in the process, it created a marvelous experience, allowing students to interact with a different age group and fostering a sense of community and creativity.
Os alunos do Grade 5 compartilharam histórias com as crianças do Grade 2 de maneiras lúdicas e criativas, incluindo dramatizações e fantoches de papel, todos criados pelos alunos mais velhos. Esta atividade fez parte da iniciativa StarBooks Delivery, um projeto criado no Mês Literário para incentivar a leitura em inglês, envolvendo os alunos em um projeto de contação de histórias em estilo de cafeteria literária para crianças.
Neste dia especial, quatro histórias foram apresentadas: “10 Little Monkeys”, “Old Turtle”, “The Boy and the Wall” e “Quakers.” Os alunos participaram de uma atividade interativa na qual as crianças do Grade 2 tiveram que encontrar pistas ao longo do caminho até a sala de aula. Depois desenharam barcos inspirados pelas histórias que foram contadas!
Por meio da ludicidade e criatividade no processo, foi uma experiência maravilhosa, permitindo que os alunos interagissem com um grupo de idade diferente e promovendo um senso de comunidade e criatividade.
