In Grade 2 B students are developing their reading skills and they already know that confident readers MAKE PREDICTIONS before, during and after reading.
What do you think is going to happen next?
The predicting occurs when readers use their personal experiences and clues from the text to anticipate what is going to happen next in the story. This reading strategy helps kids to deepen their thinking and better comprehend what they are reading.
When students actively predict while reading, they stay connected to the text and naturally are encouraged to continue reading to confirm if their predictions were correct or not.

Despertando leitores confiantes!
Crianças que desenvolvem amor por livros desde cedo têm maiores probabilidades de se tornarem bons leitores. Mas ler vai além de simplesmente gostar das figuras e histórias.
No Grade 2 B os alunos estão desenvolvendo habilidades de leitura e já sabem que leitores confiantes FAZEM PREDIÇÕES antes, durante e após a leitura.
A antecipação ocorre quando leitores usam suas experiências pessoais e pistas do texto para antecipar o que vai acontecer em seguida na história. Esta estratégia de leitura ajuda as crianças a aprofundarem seus pensamentos e melhor compreenderem o que estão lendo.
Quando os alunos usam ativamente esta estratégia, eles permanecem conectados ao texto e naturalmente são encorajados a continuar a leitura para confirmar se as suas predições estavam corretas ou não.
