Last week we celebrated International Women’s Day and the students from Grade 8 did some activities on a platform called Nearpod, whose purpose was to help them better understand some of the issues affecting women around the world.
They worked with different kinds of media and answered some questions which required analysis and reflection. It’s important to highlight that our focus was content (theme) and expression, and not language structure and conventions (grammar, punctuation, etc.).Therefore, mistakes are still observed in their production.
Among the planned activities, they also created a slogan and a picture to help raise awareness of a gender equality issue.It was rewarding to notice that our students are growing to become great citizens, willing to advocate for what is right and fair.

Na semana passada celebramos o Dia Internacional da Mulher e os alunos do Grade 8 realizaram atividades em uma plataforma chamada Nearpod com o objetivo de ajudá-los a entender melhor algumas questões que afetam as mulheres ao redor do mundo.
Eles trabalharam com diferentes mídias e responderam questionamentos que exigiam análise e reflexão. É importante ressaltar que nosso foco foi o conteúdo (tema) e a expressividade dos alunos e não a forma (gramática, pontuação etc.). Assim, os erros cometidos pelos alunos foram mantidos.
Dentre as atividades propostas, os alunos também criaram um slogan e uma imagem para chamar a atenção para uma questão de igualdade de gênero. Foi muito gratificante notar que nossos alunos estão crescendo para se tornarem ótimos cidadãos, dispostos a defender o que é certo e justo.
